We find lasting inspiration in our products, and hope you do as well…

Our Philosophy
The AP Limited Editions is borne from years of passion for writing with fountain pens. The fascination for collecting pens began at the age of nine when I was growing up in India and learned fine penmanship. This was nurtured through time, by reading, using and learning about pen related ephemera. I spent my teenage years living and studying in England where I spent weekends exploring fountain pens at Burlington Arcade, Battersea, Covent Garden and Harrods. All my savings went towards a prized fountain pen helping me slowly build a small collection of pens that were absolutely intriguing for me. My pens were not just a part of a collection to view – I thoroughly enjoyed putting the fine nibs to paper. I used to dream of how I would launch a line of pens that would be everything I desired to own.

I found my home and heart in the United States and the opportunity of realizing my dream. Becoming a part of the collector fraternity in America further enhanced my knowledge of pens. Visits to various pen shows and meeting with other collectors, drove my inspiration towards conviction to launch The AP Limited Editions.

Every introduction in The AP Limited Editions is for the discerning, for those who understand and appreciate quality and only desire the very best.My intent is to bring to you, a product that is not only unique and beautiful, but a true work of art to become an heirloom over time.

I see creativity as a dynamic spiral, moving upwards and onwards, driving passion to newer heights, and taking the best of the past to new horizons into the future. I seek new inspiration with each creation and hope you find that too.

Ganesha
AP Limited Editions celebrates the passion for Maki-e with the launch of ‘Ganesha’ , the ‘Beginning’…and the ‘Auspicious.’
One of the most loved Gods of the Hindu pantheon, Ganesha has the head of an elephant and the body of a human. He is the culmination of ‘buddhi’, wisdom and ‘siddhi’ – achievement.

His auspicious blessing is invoked before any significant offering or event. Many legends trace his symbolism from the ancient Vedic times in Indian history to the present day.

May Ganesha inspire you to a greater share of all that he represents – peace, wisdom, achievement and success!

Hanuman
AP Limited Editions celebrates the passion for Maki – e with the launch of the valiant ‘Hanuman’, the Hindu ‘monkey’ God, the warrior and protector for Good over Evil. He assumes an iconic role in Indian mythology, where he saved Queen Sita from the ravages of the evil demon God Ravana and aided her husband the benevolent King Rama to triumph in one the bloodiest
battles ever.

Known as the “remover of obstacles,” he is the monkey hero from 700,000 BC, who perhaps continues to inspire Hollywood icons such as King Kong, Mighty Joe Young and more recently Chewbacca of Star Wars fame.

May Hanuman inspire you to a greater share of valor and strength!

Maslenista
AP Limited Editions celebrates Russian Miniature Art from the Mstera School of Russian Miniature Art with the launch of Maslenista, the Pancake Feast.

This weeklong feast traces its origins in Russian history to the pagan times, commemorating the end of winter and the appearance of the sun in all its glory. This feast is celebrated today before the Great Lent or the seventh week before Easter.

The Mstera style of art is unique in its use of detail where pale tones blend into a harmonious story.

AP Limited Editions invites you to join the feast and uncover the mystery of Mstera!

From Urushi To Palekh
AP Limited Editions celebrates the fusion of lacquer art forms from Maki-e to the Russian Palekh School of Miniature Art with the launch of – From Urushi To Palekh.

Urushi lacquer has been long used in Japan in the 5th and 6th centuries. It was celebrated as Maki-e when gold and silver work was introduced with the original Urushi forms.

From Urushi to Palekh is an interesting fusion of the Japanese Maki-e art form with the Russian Palekh style, where tempera pigments are used in strikingly brilliant colors to paint symbols from nature so typical of Oriental art forms.

AP Limited Editions invites you to experience the new fusions of old art forms and enjoy the dynamism of life and nature

The Circus
AP Limited Editions celebrates Russian Miniature Art from the School of Palekh, with the launch of - The Circus.

It is believed that the Circus finds its origins in ancient Rome where open-air stadiums housed horse and chariot races. Traveling circuses in Europe were common in the 18th century where animal trainers and performers went from town to town. Some noteworthy traveling circuses from Giuseppe Chiarini, Louis Soullier and Jacques Tourniaire introduced the circus to Russia.

In 1919, a gentleman by the name of Vladimir Lenin nationalized the circus. This led to the creation of the State University of Circus and Variety Arts, better known as the Moscow Circus School in 1927. Today, circus performers are awarded recognition by The International Circus Festival that has been held in Monte Carlo since 1974.

AP Limited Editions invites you to join in and celebrate the Palekh School of Art, by experiencing the many dimensions of The Circus and all that it has to offer.

Churches of Moscow
AP Limited Editions celebrates Russian Miniature Art from the School of Fedoskino, with the launch of – Churches
of  Moscow.

It is believed that Christianity was introduced into Russia in the 9th century. The city of Moscow is dotted with the most beautiful Churches and Cathedrals in the typical Russian onion-domed architectural style.

The Fedoskino School of painting captures the spiritual translucence with a style of painting that uses gold leaf and inlaid mother of pearl.

AP Limited Editions invites you to share the beauty of the Churches of Moscow, and the Fedoskino School of Art that together commemorate the trials and tribulations of the past.
