ITOYA

ITOYA of America, Ltd., a subsidiary of ITOYA Japan, was established in 1976, and put itself on the map with quality writing instruments centered around innovation and value.  The original ITOYA Scoop was the first two-sided pen sold in America and the ITOYA Pointkeeper featured the first rubber grip on a writing instrument. These design and concept breakthroughs are the cornerstone of the ITOYA philosophy, challenging convention and showcasing new ways to serve the customer. This innovative spirit can still be found in each and every product available through ITOYA, including the full line of Art Profolio Brand presentation books.

In 2003, ITOYA once again revolutionized the writing arena with the Xenon retractable pen, featuring the exclusive AquaRoller low-viscosity ink refill.  With the durability of a standard oil-based ballpoint pen, combined with the smooth rolling feel of a water-based gel, the AquaRoller incorporates a low-friction stainless rollerball and a proprietary, one-piece, spun-cast needle point nib for rigidity. The AquaRoller fits any ballpoint or gel pen designed for use with the standard Parker®-style refill.

New for this year, ITOYA unveils the quick-dry Gel which features rich, deep-colored water-based ink that rolls effortlessly over paper with consistent flow and writing feedback. The ITOYA quick-dry Gel won’t skip or snag and continues to write effortlessly from first line to last.  Standard black and blue, along with vivid red, purple and green colors makes the ITOYA Gel the new benchmark for Parker®-style refills.

ITOYA Ltd., Japan was founded in 1904.  The flagship store on The Ginza in metropolitan Tokyo is one of the premier retailers in the world for fine writing instruments and personal stationery goods, and has continued to set the retail standard in customer service and selection for over 100 years.

“The primary function of any writing instrument, regardless of price or form, is to empower mankind with a communications tool first and foremost,” said Shun Takemura, President and founder of ITOYA of America, Ltd.  “Writing instruments have served as the great communicators that have transcended generations and distances.  From early cave paintings to the United States Constitution, writing instruments will continue to enable the great minds and the great ideas, for now and forever.”
