The Platinum Pen Company has been manufacturing high-quality fountain pens in Japan since 1919.  It manufactures thousands of products, including mechanical pencils and gel, stylus, multi-function, and fountain pens. Innovators in maki-e, the Japanese fine art used in handmade fountain pens, Platinum is respected worldwide by collectors and dealers for maintaining its high standard of quality and workmanship.

Key recent events in the history of the Platinum Pen Company:
- In 1997, Platinum established Platinum Pen, USA.
- In 1999, the Nakaya Fountain Pen Company was founded.
- In 2001, Platinum maki-e artists from Japan visited three cities in the United States and displayed their works of art to the public. Artists also performed live demonstrations, which before had only been done in Japan.

Tryphon Enterprises is the new exclusive distributor of high quality pens made by the Platinum Pen Co. of Tokyo, Japan.

The Platinum Pen Co. is well known for the superb quality and exquisite design of its pens, which are made in Japan to the most exacting standards. The Platinum Pen Co. is one of the oldest penmakers in the world, experiencing its beginnings in 1919 when Shunichi Nakata opened a pen shop in the Okayama prefecture. Five years later, he moved to Tokyo and formed the company Nakaya Seisakusho. Later, the name of the company was changed to the Platinum Pen Company. It is still located in Tokyo, and the current president is Toshihiro Nakata, son of the founder.

Tryphon Enterprises, established in South Florida in 1996, handles the distribution of all non-disposable Platinum pens and will offer full product support services in the United States. Every pen available in Japan is now also available in North America through Tryphon Enterprises.

Platinum pens carry a full one-year warranty including parts and labor. The Platinum Pen Co. and Tryphon Enterprises will provide the free warranty service for all pens sold in North America through Tryphon Enterprises.
